Thalapathy Vijay's Leo And Fahadh Faasil's Amar Are Related, Confirms Director Lokesh Kanagraj
LCU will be about protecting kids against drugs and that the Sathyamangalam Orphanage will play a major role in that.

Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film Leo was released in cinemas on October 19 amid much anticipation. The film has been received very well commercially as well as critically. Leo is well on its path to becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time. Now, director Lokesh Kanagraj has revealed an interesting detail about the film, confirming a fan theory.

Lokesh has revealed that Thalapathy Vijay’s Parthiban from Leo and Fahadh Faasil’s Amar from Vikram have an interesting connection. Fans noticed that according to the respective films, both characters grew up in an orphanage of the same name – Sathyamangalam Orphanage.

However, since Parthiban was Leo Das’ alter-ego, with his back story being made up, the exact connection between the characters is unclear. However, since orphanages are a common feature in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe or the LCU, eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot the name of the orphanage.

Lokesh Kanagraj recently spoke to Cineulagam and confirmed that fans were correct in theorising that the two characters have a connection and that he had also thought about it earlier.

He also added that all the films in the LCU will be about protecting kids against drugs and that the Sathyamangalam Orphanage will play a major role in their storylines.

Leo is the third film in the LCU. It marks Thalapathy Vijay’s second collaboration with Lokesh Kanagraj after the 2021 film Master. The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mathew Thomas and George Maryan among others.

The music for the film was handled by ace composer Anirudh Ravichander. The cinematography was handled by Manoj Paramahamsa. The film was bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio as the producer and the editing was helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj’s long-term collaborator Philomin Raj.

It was earlier reported that the film has crossed the Rs. 20 crore mark at the domestic box office in 11 days since its release.
