World Stroke Day is an international observance held on October 29 each year. It is organized by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and its 250 member organizations in over 120 countries. The aim of World Stroke Day is to raise awareness of stroke, its prevention, and treatment. On this important day, it is essential to remember the importance of charitable work, especially in the realm of open-heart surgery. This life-saving procedure is often out of reach for many people, especially in developing countries. Charitable organizations play a vital role in bridging this gap and providing access to quality healthcare for all.
One such organisation is Bhartiya Sadbhavna Manch. Under the leadership of Shahnawaz Idris Khan, Mumbai President Minority and Rakesh Rai Arora, Mumbai General Secretary, the organisation has not only extended a helping hand to the needy but has also mended broken hearts by offering free open-heart surgeries to those who could not afford it.
Arora’s compassion knows no bounds. His team has been instrumental in conducting various charitable medical treatments, including eye operations and check-ups, distributing meals and groceries to the needy, and even providing umbrellas and raincoats during the monsoon season. However, it’s the gift of life through open-heart bypass surgeries that has truly set him apart.
Speaking on the occasion of World Stroke Day, Arora shared his wisdom, saying, “Stress is linked to heart diseases in many ways. We have gone through a pandemic, and many people have lost their jobs and loved ones, which has left them in stress. One needs to get up early in the morning, do some exercise, plan your day, drink plenty of water, change your eating habits, and most importantly, stop smoking.”
Arora’s words are not just advice; they are a reflection of his genuine concern for the well-being of the people he serves. His dedication and tireless efforts have transformed the lives of countless individuals. Arora’s journey to becoming a guardian angel for heart patients began with a vision to provide quality healthcare to those who couldn’t afford it. He understood that many lives were hanging by a thread due to their inability to access crucial medical procedures.
Through his organization, Arora has been instrumental in providing free open-heart surgeries, which would have otherwise been beyond the reach of numerous families. His work is not only changing the lives of patients but also restoring hope and spreading compassion in the community.
As the founder of this noble initiative, Arora’s message to the citizens of India is clear: “In case anyone needs any medical assistance or help, they are free to contact me. I will be highly obliged to help every citizen of India. My office is in Bandra.”
Rakesh Rai Arora’s story is a testament to the power of one individual’s dedication and generosity to make a profound impact on the lives of others. On this World Stroke Day, let his work serve as a reminder that a single person’s compassion and selflessness can create a ripple effect, ultimately saving lives and inspiring us all to be better, kinder, and more giving human beings.
