Assembly Polls Updates: Actor Rajkummar Rao is EC's National Icon; Kamal Nath To File Nomination Today
The assembly elections will be held in Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Chhattisgarh on November 7 and 17, Rajasthan on November 25 (updated), Telangana on November 30, and Mizoram on November 7. The results of all the five states will be declared on December 3.

The dates for assembly polls in five states — Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram — have been announced by the the Election Commission of India (ECI) and now it’s time for political parties to go all out to woo voters.

The assembly elections will be held in Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Chhattisgarh on November 7 and 17, Rajasthan on November 25 (updated), Telangana on November 30, and Mizoram on November 7. The results of all the five states will be declared on December 3.

The terms of the legislative assemblies in Telangana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh are set to conclude on various dates in January 2024, while the term of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly will end on December 17 this year.

Rajasthan Polls: Rs 244 Crore Cash Seized in Last 15 Days

Ahead of the Assembly elections in Rajasthan, enforcement agencies have seized Rs 244 crore cash in the last 15 days, officials said on Tuesday.

A strict vigil is being maintained by the police, excise, income tax and other enforcement agencies and a “new record” has been made in the seizure of illegal cash, liquor, drugs, gold, silver etc. The total seizure figure has crossed Rs 1,000 crore in 2023, officials said.

According to officials, this year there has been a three-fold increase in the total seizure, which was Rs 322 crore in 2021, Rs 347 crore in 2022 and Rs 1,021 crore so far in 2023.

MP Elections: Nath Promises Revival of Sri Lanka Sita Temple Project

Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath on Tuesday said if voted to power in the assembly elections, the Congress will revive the project to construct Sitamata temple in Sri Lanka even as he made a string of promises mostly concerning Hindu community.

He also said the new government will be committed to the upliftment of faith and culture in the state.

Wishing people on the occasion of Dussehra, the former chief minister also promised an increase in the honorarium of Hindu priests besides providing them insurance cover in a move to counter the Hindutva plank of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
