The Indian delegation at the Asian Para Games is all set to mount a performance worth of accolades as seek to demonstrate their mettle at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games 2023, slated to be held from the 22nd of October to the 28th of October.
Ahead of the games, the Honourable Prime Minister of the nation, Shri. Narendra Modi sent his best wishes to the unit representing the tricolour in China.

The PM wished those competing for laurels with a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, with an update that read, “As the Asian Para Games begin, I convey my best wishes to the incredible Indian contingent! Each athlete representing India has an inspiring life journey. I am confident they will give a glimpse of the true essence of Indian sportsmanship.”

The nation is sending its largest contingent ever of 303 athletes, comprising 191 male and 112 female athletes, in hopes of coming up with a historic performance.
The country’s best showing at the Games was 72 medals including 15 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 33 bronze at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta, and the contingent bound to Hangzhou will look to improve on the previous tally.
Also, 13 of the 15 Indians, including Pramod Bhagat, Ekta Bhyan and Suyash Jadhav, who won gold at the previous editions will be defending their titles at this edition of the Para Games.
The Indian unit produced a memorable performance at the recently concluded Asian Games in Hangzhou as they surpassed the 100-medal target to finish with a total of 107 medals, of which 28 were gold, 38 were silver and 41 were bronze.
