Terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba is testing the capability of dropping terrorists into the Indian territory via drones that can carry payloads of up to 70kg, a video exclusively accessed by News18 has shown.
The video, shot inside a Lashkar drone training camp, shows terrorists testing the capability of the drones to carry a human and dropping them in water. The plan seems to be to drop terrorists along the border in Punjab and J&K. According to sources in the intelligence apparatus, a terrorist was dropped into Punjab using such a drone last month.
Currently, terrorist groups and drug smugglers based in Pakistan are using drones to traffic weapons and narco consignments into Indian territory, mainly in Punjab and J&K. News18 had reported earlier this week that amid strict vigil along the borders in J&K and Punjab, narcotics rings are using the borders along Rajasthan and Gujarat to drop the consignments that are meant to be picked up by their associates and smuggled to Punjab via road.

“These drones are super-efficient and can carry payload of up to 70kg. These drones can carry a human terrorist and weapons easily,” a source in the intelligence establishment told News18, adding that these drones can easily travel 60 km to-and-fro.
Officials added that terror groups could not have got their hands on such drones without the support of Pakistan’s spy agency, the ISI. “Terrorists can do any major attack and go back,” the source added.
The video has surfaced at a time when an operation is ongoing in Anantnag district of south Kashmir to neutralise Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists involved in the encounter that led to the killing of four security forces personnel.
On Thursday, the police said it has “encircled” two Lashkar terrorists. Four security forces personnel — Colonel Manpreet Singh, commanding officer of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles, Major Ashish Dhonchak, Deputy Superintendent of Police Humayun Bhat and a soldier — were killed in the encounter on Wednesday morning. In Jammu, anti-Pakistan protests were held on Thursday in various parts of the city.
