Ranchi: Jharkhand, which has been under President's Rule since June, is likely to get a new government headed by Arjun Munda on September 11.

With the central cabinet approving the lifting of President's Rule, Arjun Munda has been informally invited by Governor MOH Farook to form the government in the state.

Munda went to Raj Bhavan around 12.40 pm to meet the governor along with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislature party leader Hemant Soren and All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) president Sudesh Mahto.

"The governor called us informally and wanted to know when we will take oath. I suggested September 11. When we are invited formally, then we will inform the Raj Bhawan," Munda told reporters after meeting the governor.

Munda is expected to take oath as chief minister for the third time at 11 am on September 11. Soren and Mahto are also expected to take oath as deputy chief ministers the same day.

The cabinet will be expanded after seeking a trust vote.

On Tuesday, Munda staked claim to form the government with the support of 45 legislators supported by the JMM, AJSU, Janata Dal-United and two independents.
