New Delhi: The Election Commission of India will declare the results of assembly elections held in five states, namely — Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh on December 11 (Tuesday). With the announcement of the results, the fate of political parties in these five states will be sealed. All the phases of voting across these states concluded on Friday.

The assembly elections will play a significant role in paving the way for the government formation in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha polls. With only hours left for the announcements to be made, here is all that you need to know about the D-day:Date of Declaration of Results

The Election Commission will declare the assembly election results of the five states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram on December 11 (Tuesday). The results will exhibit the possible trend of the next government formation at the centre.Counting of Votes

Vote counting on Tuesday will begin at 8 am and the results are expected to be out by the evening. Security Arrangements

Tight security arrangements have been made by the Election Commission of India for all the centres where the votes are to be counted. Security has been beefed up particularly in Chhattisgarh, in all the 27 districts and especially the Naxal-affected ones.Exit Polls Trends

The exit polls on Friday predicted a tight finish between the party and the Congress in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and a win for the opposition party in Rajasthan. Pollsters also forecast that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will retain power in Telangana.

The results show that the BJP could face a tough challenge from the Congress in 2019 in states where it is pitted directly against the grand old party. The BJP not only won Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan by a comfortable margin in 2013, but a year later, in the Lok Sabha polls, it bagged 64 of 67 seats up for grabs in these three states.
