Kozhikode: BJP National Executive member, Prof Sreedharan Pillai, on Saturday said that the party's candidates have already started electioneering and hoped the party to do well in the forthcoming assembly election in Kerala.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Pillai said that the party was fighting the election with Kerala's development as the main agenda.
Pillai termed as a political drama enacted by the CPM to go to polls under the leadership of Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, by reversing the party's earlier decision to deny candidature to Achuthanandan.
Alleging that the CPM had betrayed the people by saying that Achuthanandan was not in the electoral fray due to ill health, reversed their decision in couple of days, he said CPM will have to clarify as people wants to know the fact.
The hope for a third front at national level will be wiped out after the assembly results of Kerala and West Bengal comes out, he said, adding that at the national-level, there will be only two fronts - BJP-led NDA and Congress-led UPA.
Top national leaders of BJP are expected to come to the state for electioneering, he said. Asked whether the party will open its account in the
assembly, Pillai said, "We will spring a surprise."
