New Delhi: The BJP core committee meeting scheduled to be held in Mumbai is likely to take the final decision on the return of former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa to the party. According to state BJP leader and former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda, the BJP will definitely welcome Yeddyurappa back into the party fold.
Yeddyurappa has already declared his support to the BJP-led NDA although he is still maintaining that he will not return to the BJP.
But, a powerful section in the state BJP is forcing the BJP central leadership to take him back into the party to put up a strong fight in Lok Sabha polls.
Yeddyurappa quit the BJP in November 2012 to launch his own Karnataka Janatha Party (KJP). His party won 6 assembly seats and got 10 per cent votes in the recent assembly elections.
BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is keen on Yeddyurappa's return before the Lok Sabha polls. Yeddyurappa is a strong Lingayat leader. Lingayats are the single largest community with 18 per cent of votes in Karnataka.
