New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) will consider a package of Rs 8750 crore for West Bengal.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had, however, insisted on a package of Rs 19000 crore for the state.
This came a month after Trinamool Congress MPs met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over hike in petrol prices and had insisted on a package for the state.
The move comes amidst differences between the Centre and Mamata Banerjee over the issue of foreign direct investment (FDI) in retail.
