Conflict in Maharashtra Cong over dynastic politics
Dynastic politics has stalled the party's ticket distribution in the state.

New Delhi: After a prolonged tug of war with the NCP, the Congress is now at conflict with itself in Maharashtra. And the cause of the problem: dynastic politics, which has stalled the party's ticket distribution in the state.

The Congress leadership is in a bind over giving tickets to relatives of senior Congress leaders.

Prominent among the ones who sought tickets are former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh' son Amit Deshmukh from Latur.

Sushil Kumar Shinde's daughter Praniti Shinde from Sholapur and Padamrao Kadam's son Bishwajeet from Sangli.

Pratibha Devi Singh Patil's son Rajendra Shekhawat has sought ticket to contest from Amravati, while Manik Rao Thakre's son Rahul wants to contest from Yavatmal.

Prabha Rao's is putting pressure to field daughter Charulata from Tokas and Vilas Muttemvar's son Vishal Muttemwar is eying Nagpur.

Sources say that the situation is similar in Haryana but the party is not in a mood to oblige the politicians.

What's your reaction?
