New Delhi: Attacks by Opposition on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, embroiled in the controversy surrounding former Indian Premier League (IPL) chief Lalit Modi, are growing with each passing day. Questioning Narendra Modi silence even when names of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje have cropped up in the row, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh called the Prime Minister "Swami Maunendra".
He claimed that there have been 3 lies and 3 cover-ups by BJP and Vasundhara Raje. "First it has been established that fugitive Lalit Modi and Vasundhara Raje are business partners. Second fact which has been established that fugitive Lalit Modi got Rs 21 crore from Mauritius and invested in Dushyant Singh's Company. Third fact that has been established that Vasundhara Raje signed a seven-page document for UK Authorities to abet fugitive Lalit Modi," Jairam Ramesh said.
Adding more fuel to the fire, Congress claimed of exposing the 4th fact in the case and termed it as 'Dhararavahik'. "We present you the documents where Lalit Modi and Vasundhara Raje changed a government property into a personal property," he said while showing the documents as an evidence.
"On 10.04.1954, Dholpur Riyasat merged with Union of India in Independent India & in 1977 Dholpur Mahal was made government property. Even Vasundhara Raje herself had admitted this fact that Dholpur property was owned by the Rajasthan government. Despite Dholpur City Palace being property of government, Vasundhara Raje & Lalit Modi proceeded to convert it into a high-end private luxury hotel," Ramesh claimed.
"Magnitude of quid pro quo, fine relationship between Rajasthan CM and her fugitive friend, partner Lalit Modi are getting unearthed everyday," he added.
