The proceedings for the second day of the 18th Lok Sabha session began on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi sparked a controversy by chanting ‘Jai Palestine’ slogan as he concluded his oath as an MP on the second day of the 18th Lok Sabha session.
Rahul Gandhi had won the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh by defeating BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh with a margin of 3,90,030 votes. He also retained the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala with a margin of 3,64,422 votes over his nearest rival, Communist Party of India-Marxist candidate Annie Raja.
The former Congress president, however, opted to vacate the Wayanad LS seat in favour of retaining Raebareli.
