DMK leaders 'valued colleagues'; will be back: PM
Congress, ally discuss deadlock over allotment of ministerial berths.

New Delhi: There may be a deadlock in the sharing of ministerial berths but the DMK would be back, said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday after the swearing- in ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

"They are our valued colleagues. They will come back," he told reporters confidently.

Speculation has been mounting over the DMK's inclusion in the cabinet and the council of ministers. On Friday, after talks failed, DMK chief M. Karunanidhi said they had decided to extend only outside support to the government in New Delhi.

The Tamil Nadu chief minister, his eldest son M K Azhagiri and senior leaders like T R Baalu and Arcot Veeraswami had returned to Chennai after a deadlock over the distribution of ministerial berths, but instructed MPs to stay back in New Delhi and attend the oath-taking ceremony.
