The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badaruddin Ajmal recently courted another controversy with his remarks on polygamy when he said “People who are energetic and can go for more than one marriage.”
The AIUDF leader, who is revered as a ‘Maulana’, was speaking against the Uniform Civil Code and said that his party will vehemently oppose the proposed bill in Assam.
“People who are young, energetic and have stamina may go for more than one marriage, what harm in that! Islam doesn’t forbid polygamy,” said the AIUDF chief.
Referring to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s recent statement in Rangia, AIUDF chief Badaruddin Ajmal said that he would do good deeds so the chief minister can sleep undisturbed during election season.
“Now onward I shall do good things so that our CM can sleep undisturbed at night. Now it’s election time he (CM) needs to visit various places for campaigning, so he shouldn’t miss his sleep,” Ajmal said.
On Sunday Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, in his speech on the 93rd Srimanta Shakardev Adhibeshan said he becomes restless and loses sleep when some organisations invite people like Badaruddin Ajmal to events.
Recently Assam Cabinet approved the ‘Assam Healing Prevention of Evil Practice Bill 2024’. The main aim of the bill is to ban all types of illegal healing therapy like quack, traditional, unscientific healing systems.
But surprisingly a responsible lawmaker, AIUDF Chief and MP of Dhubri Badaruddin Ajmal recently seen practicing such type of black magic. On Sunday late evening, Ajmal was seen chanting MANTRAs to purify water.
Previously as well, Ajmal used this trick (quack) to attract illiterate voters in rural areas. Particularly in Muslim society Ajmal’s healing method (through water purifying) is very popular.
