Govt may place Anna's bill in Parliament: Sources
Sources also said that there is no plan to withdraw the government version of the Lokpal bill.

New Delhi: The Congress party's main troubleshooters Pranab Mukherjee, P Chidambaram and Ahmed Patel met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his residence on Monday to discuss the Anna Hazare protest fast over the Lokpal issue.

Sources told CNN-IBN that the government is thinking of placing the Jan Lokpal bill as a corrigendum in Parliament. They also said that there is no plan to withdraw the government version of the Lokpal bill.

It is being reported that the government will take a final decision on the Lokpal on Tuesday.

Sources added that the government was also planning to consult the Opposition on the issue.

The meeting of the Congress core group was held at a time when Team Anna has made it clear that it would like to hold direct talks with the government and does not want any intermediaries.
