Sirsa: Haryana's Minister of State for Home Gopal Kanda has been accused of ordering his personal security officers to open fire in a crowded market place where shopkeepers were observing a bandh call given by Indian National Lok Dal.
Kanda reportedly flew into a rage on seeing that the market was observing a total shutdown on Saturday. He first got into a heated argument with INLD workers. When, despite his repeated instructions, the INLD workers refused to let shops reopen, Kanda hurled abuses at them.
The minister also reportedly urged his bodyguards to shoot at the INLD workers. In his defence Kanda said he ordered the firing only after the mob attacked his car.
"They attacked my car. How can they shutdown the shops like this," said Kanda.
The INLD is expected to file a criminal case against him. The party is also demanding Kanda's removal from the Bhupinder Singh Hooda ministry.
