Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has once again opposed the creation of Telangana. After visiting cyclone Phailin hit Srikakulam district of the state, Reddy has made a statement that he is going to oppose the creation of Telangana state.
The chief minister who has been openly criticising the party high command's decision said, "We will stop the creation of Telangana. People must fight for united Andhra Pradesh." Reddy has been embarrassing the Congress high command in New Delhi for over two months.
The Congress leaders from Telangana have been demanding his removal. Reddy has also been accused of tacitly supporting the government employees' strike, which they ended last week.
However the Centre has already initiated the process of forming Telangana state, ignoring Seemandhra leaders opposition. Lok Sabha Speaker has also rejected the resignation of 13 Seemandhra MPs. Political observers said Reddy is playing to the gallery.
