Live: NSAB report didn't say China intruded into Indian territory, says Antony

New Delhi: 1:20 pm: The Opposition is in no mood to relent as the BJP created a storm demanding a clarification from the Defence Minister. The Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 2 pm following the uproar.

1:01 pm: Defence Minister AK Antony has denied reports saying that the National Security Advisory Board had reported Chinese incursions along the LAC. Making a statement in the Lok Sabha, Antony said, "The National Security Advisory Board report reviews the progress of road infrastructure to ensure connectivity of Ladakh and neighbouring places. NSAB chief Shyam Saran has not said in his report that China has occupied any part of the Indian territory."

11:42 am: Union Minister Rajiv Shukla says the government condemns the ghastly murder of Sushmita Banerjee and the matter will be taken up with the Afghanistan government.

11:42 am: Samajwadi Party leader Jaya Bachchan in the Upper House hits out at the government for not mentioning Indian author Sushmita Banerjee's murder in Afghanistan. She says, "It surprises me that the government did not even mention Sushmita's murder and we get to know it from newspapers."

11:39 am: TMC leader Kunal Kumar Ghosh in the Rajya Sabha protests the murder of Indian author Sushmita Banerjee. She was shot dead in Afghanistan. He says, " I salute Sushmita that she continued her fight against Taliban."

11:30 am: BJP leader Prakash Javedkar says the issue of Chinese incursion can be resolved but there has to be a political will. The party demands that the Prime Minister must talk to his Chinese counterpart at G20 summit.

11:29 am: TMC leader Sudip Bandhopadhya says deliberate and motivated attempts are being made to divide Bengal and he apprehended that the Central government also has a role in it.

11:27 am: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath says in the Lok Sbaha that the report of Chinese incursion is a very serious matter. He says, "I want to tell Mulaym Singh and others that the government is neither weak nor worthless. The government has no intention to hide any thing." He says the Defence minsiter will make a statement at 1 pm.

11:25 am: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav raises the issue of reports of Chinese incursion in the Lok Sabha. He says he have been raising the issue for 14 years and no action was taken by the government. He hits out at the defence minister saying, "A Defence Minister who cannot secure the country's border has no right to stay in post."

11:08 am: Lok Sabha members demand Defence Minister AK Antony's statement on reports of China incursion. The Speaker assures the House that he shall make a statement.

11:05 am: MPs create uproar in the Lok Sabha over the reports of China incursion.

Parliament witnessed an uproar on Friday with members demanding a statement from the Defence Minister AK Antony over the reports of China incursion along the Line of Actual Control on Thursday. However, National Security Advisory Board chief Shyam Saran has denied media reports about Chinese incursions along the LAC. According to media reports an official NSAB probe report submitted to the Prime Minister's Office had said that Indian troops are not being allowed to patrol the LAC.

The Monsoon Session is also extended by a day to pass some of the crucial bills. On Thursday, the Land Acquisition Bill, which seeks to provide just and fair compensation to farmers while ensuring that no land can be aquired forcibly, was passed by the Lok Sabha with amendments while the Rajya Sabha passed the Judicial Appointment Bill. Meanwhile, thr Right To Information Amendment Bill was deferred due to lack of consensus between the political parties.
