Chirag’s uncle, Pashupati Kumar Paras, the chief of the other faction of LJP, currently holds the Hajipur seat.

A two-time MP from Jamui, Chirag, on Wednesday, held a roadshow in the constituency to announce the candidature of Arun Bharti. A businessman, Arun Bharti’s mother Jyoti Bhati had been an MLA and MLC from the Congress.

“I assure you all that Bharti Ji will prove himself worthy of you all. He will never give you reasons for any complaint,” Paswan said at a public meeting on Wednesday, according to a Hindustan Times report.
