New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy has now written to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley seeking an investigation into the National Herald case under the Income Tax Act.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi have been named accused in the case and a Delhi court has summoned both of them for August 7.

It was Swamy who had filed a PIL alleging misappropriation of assets worth Rs 2000 crore of the National Herald newspaper. He alleged that the Congress gave an unsecured loan to Sonia-owned Young Indian Ltd to acquire National Herald's holding company Associated Journals.

The others summoned include Motilal Vora, Oscar Fernandez, Suman Dubey and Sam Pitroda.
