Paralyse Maya govt like Hosni says Mulayam
SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav has called for an agitation in UP on March 1, 2 and 3.

Gorakhpur: Alleging corruption, atrocities and autocracy in his political rival BSP's regime, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday told his party men to launch an agitation to "paralyse" the functioning of the Uttar Pradesh government for three days starting from March 1.

"Paralyse the working of the government completely on March 1, 2 and 3 on the issues of corruption, atrocities, autocracy and the agitation should be such that (Chief Minister) Mayawati is forced to step down like Egypt's

President Hosni Mubarak has been forced to," he told his party workers on the last day of the SP state-level convention.

He, however, asked the party workers that the agitation should not be violent and there should be no loss to the

private or public properties.

"The focus of the agitation would be 'manenge bhi nahi aur marenge hi bhi nahi (Neither will we accept not will we resort to violence)," Yadav said giving a call for a "fierce agitation" against the government. He said the agitation

should not be such in which workers become content on being arrested and later released from custody.

"The agitation should be something which shakes the corrupt and autocratic government," he said while directing the district units to prepare for the programme.

Calling upon the youths and students to come forward and participate in the agitation, the SP supremo said that current situation was worse as compared to the period when socialist leader Jai Prakash Narain launched a movement.

"JP movement, which initially included youths and students and was later joined by more common people, forced an influential leader like Indira Gandhi to step down and she even lost the elections," he said.

Yadav said the time has come to take some decision to protect the interests of farmers, the poor, youths, women and weaker sections. "In Aligarh, a junior engineer was killed and his daughter was jailed when she attempted to lodge a

complaint with the Chief Minister. In Banda, a girl was raped by a BSP MLA and she was later put behind bars," he said.

Yadav alleged that Mayawati was the wealthiest leader in the country having maximum property.

"There is such an autocracy in the state that if a person attempts to raise his voice he is jailed," he alleged adding that in case of independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh even the High Court made observations against the police while granting bail to MLC Akshay Pratap Singh.

"Is there any morality left in the government? If there would have been any morality, the CM should have resigned immediately," he said. The SP supremo said that the Centre and the Governor should have interfered in this case and should have dismissed the government on this basis.

Asking party men to settle their internal differences ahead of the assembly polls due next year, he said, "I am confident that we will form the next government in the state if there is unity." He said when party was targeting Lucknow and Delhi, workers and leaders were fighting with each other.
