Former working chairman of the PDP, Poonthura Siraj has decided to resign from all positions.
Thiruvananthapuram: Former working chairman of the Peoples' Democratic Party, Poonthura Siraj, who was reinstated in the party recently by PDP chairman Abul Nasser Madani, on Saturday said he had decided to resign from all positions including the primary membership.
Talking to reporters here, he cited personal reasons for the decision.
Siraj, suspended a few months ago for anti-party activities, was reinstated recently as central committee member and general convener for the assembly elections by Madani, now jailed in Bangalore in connection with the July 2008 bomb blasts case there.
Siraj said though he had obeyed Madani's instructions during the 16 years when he was in the PDP, he could not now do so due to "personal reasons."
