The Karnataka BJP launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress party calling it the “sleeping regime of Siddaramaiah” over the sexual assault of a Muslim woman inside a hotel room in the Haveri district. A group of seven people had attacked an inter-faith couple and allegedly gang-raped the woman inside a hotel room in Haveri.

“The audacious act by Muslim youths, brutally attacking and abducting a interfaith couple in broad daylight, underscores the government’s failure to ensure citizen safety, ” an X post by Karnataka BJP said.

Sharing a sleeping image of CM Siddaramaiah, BJP commented that Karnataka, under the sleeping regime of Siddaramaiah, has unfortunately become the Titanic of India.

“A reality in Karnataka, where: – Farmers are ending lives, – Development & progress are a fair tale, – Govt transportation are stalled, – Power-cuts are frequent, – Severe Drought is leeching life from the land, – Startup funding & FDI inflow are declining, – Law and order have gone into hiding, – Corporates are walking out. Their mantra? Loot. Ruin. Sleep. Repeat!” another X post by the BJP said.

BJP further stated that Siddaramaiah’s administration has “completely failed” to address the surge in crimes against women, allowing radical moral policing to flourish and jeopardizing the security of the state’s residents.

BJP further attacked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the incident of violence against children that took place in Morarji Desai hostel of Malur Yaluvahalli, Kolar district.

“The situation of children cannot be safe under the derailed administration of the state under the Congress government. It is an alarming development that people belonging to Scheduled Community are being subjected to violence and exploitation. When will the sleeping government wake up?” BJP said.

Further attacking the ruling party over the Cauvery dispute, the BJP said, “Due to the failure of rains, non-availability of electricity to agriculture, and the decision to divert Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, the crop production has been extremely low this time. As a result of this, the price of rice continues to rise day by day and in the coming days, the ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme will also suffer. The people’s voice is like a ‘Kinari in front of Kona’ before the Congress government.”

“Your minister has stated that farmers’ suicides have increased after increasing the compensation. 6,000 of the Kisan Samman Yojana provided by the Modi government. 4,000 which Yeddyurappa was giving along with Does your austerity government have any morals left to talk about farmers?” BJP further added.
