5. Sumawali is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Morena Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Sumawali falls in Morena district and Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,22,276 voters in the seat, which includes 1,23,799 male voters, and 98,465 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Sumawali recorded a voter turnout of 71.41%. In 2013 the turnout was 71.5%, and in 2008 it was 69.99%.
In 2013, Neetu Satyapal Singh of BJP won the seat by a margin of 14,076 votes (9.1%). Neetu Satyapal Singh secured 39.81% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 9,651 votes (8.02%), registering 38.63% of the total votes polled.
