N Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the third time on June 12.

Taking to social media platform X, Naidu said he will take the oath of office at 11:27 am on Wednesday, June 12, at the Kesarapalli IT Park near Gannavaram airport.

“Swearing – In ceremony will be held @ 11:27 AM on 12th June, 2024 near Kesarapalli IT Park, Gannavaram, Krishna District,” the TDP chief wrote.

Modi To Attend Naidu’s Swearing-in Event

Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of N Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, state Governor (S Abdul Nazeer) and other eminent people are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony (of Naidu),” Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad said in a statement.

The Chief Secretary reviewed the arrangements being made for the ceremony and directed officials to ensure foolproof preparations.

Several VVIPs are expected to arrive at Gannavaram airport. Senior IAS officer PS Padhyumna has been appointed as the state coordinator for the swearing-in ceremony.

The Naidu-led TDP, which contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election in alliance with Pawan Kalyan’s JanaSena Party (JSP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will return to power after defeating the incumbent Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

The TDP alone won 16 MP seats in Andhra Pradesh, while the NDA alliance of TDP, BJP, and JanaSena collectively secured a total of 21 out of 25 seats.

In 2019 elections, the YSRCP had secured a sweeping victory, winning 152 Assembly seats and 22 Lok Sabha seats, defeating Naidu’s government at the time.

Naidu is now set to return as Chief Minister after a five-year gap.

Naidu first assumed the role of Chief Minister in 1995, serving until 2004 when he was succeeded by the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. After the state’s bifurcation into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Naidu became the first Chief Minister of the new Andhra Pradesh in 2014.
