New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday asserted that there were no differences within the UPA over the presidential candidate, adding that coalition chairman Sonia Gandhi had been authorised to take a final call on the issue.
"The CWC has authorised Congress president Sonia Gandhi to take the final decision about the presidential candidate of the party," said Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari.
He, however, said that the party had not taken any decision in this regard till now.
When asked about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) garnering support for the Vice President candidate, the Congress spokesperson said, "We do not want to comment on whom the BJP is meeting regarding this."
Notably, veteran BJP leader Jaswant Singh had met Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh over the issue earlier on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Congress spokesperson refused to respond to a question on the campaign of Baba Ramdev against black money.
