Won't apologise to Amar: Mulayam's cousin
Ram Gopal Yadav had earlier openly condemned Amar Singh.

Etawah: Ram Gopal Yadav, a Rajya Sabha member and cousin of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, on Tuesday flatly denied apologising to Amar Singh, but appeared to be in a mood to patch up.

"The impression given by Amar Singh before a TV channel on Monday was not correct. I never tendered any apology to anyone," Ram Gopal Yadav, the party General Secretary, said at a press conference in Etawah.

"All I had said was that whenever there are four utensils in a house, they are bound to make some noise," he said. "But whatever the misgivings, everything between us has been sorted out," he said.

"Amar Singh is mentally ill. Why should I seek his forgiveness? He is not God." — SP General Secretary, Ram Gopal Yadav to CNN-IBN

In an obvious reference to Mulayam Singh's refusal to accept Amar Singh's resignation, he said, "The party president's word is supreme for all of us in the party and once he has taken a decision, there can be no dispute on that."

Ram Gopal Yadav, who had earlier openly condemned Amar Singh, said: "He is welcome to join us at the Saifai Festival and I would be only too glad to receive him here. He would be our guest at the cultural event and we have always believed in treating our guests like god."

He is currently camping in Mulayam Singh's home town Saifai, where the party organises an annual cultural fair. Popular Bollywood artists participate in the event.
