Tamil filmmaker Vignesh Raja and actor Ashok Selvan impressed everyone with their film Por Thozhil (2023). This film, starring R Sarathkumar, Nikhila Vimal and Sarath Babu, is currently streaming on SONY LIV. Now, Vignesh and Ashok have decided to team up for the second time for a film that is billed to be a crime thriller. In an interview with a portal, Vignesh said that due to the brilliant response garnered by Por Thozhil, he will direct his second collaboration with Ashok more responsibly. As per the reports, the details regarding the cast and technicians of the film will be revealed soon.
Vignesh Raja has accomplished a milestone in his career with the success of Por Thozhil, a psychological thriller. He was on cloud nine when he earlier told News18 exclusively that director Gautham Menon also liked the film. “I had a call from Gautham sir himself and then met him after the release. We’ve had multiple conversations post-release. He said he overall liked it and he liked the control over the craft. He advised me to move forward to not get swayed by external names and numbers and just focus on telling the story,” he had said.
Vignesh Raja had previously revealed that Gautham’s hit crime thriller Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu (2006) introduced him to the serial killer genre.
Speaking about Ashok Selvan, he has also emerged as one of the most bankable stars in Tamil cinema after showing his acting skills in the films Oh My Kadavule and Soodhu Kavvum. He had his share of flops, but Por Thozhil gave his career a push. It became one of his most-appreciated movies of 2023, and was also a bonafide commercial success.
Ashok Selvan talked about his acting journey in an earlier interview. The Oh My Kadavule actor said that initially, he was in a rush to complete things. Now, however, Ashok added that he has understood about finding the balance between professional and personal commitments. Ashok also said that his wife, actress Keerthi Pandian always says that he needs to relax and calm down. He was last acted in the film Blue Star.
