It’s January 15 and the country is celebrating Pongal, Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Uttarayan in different parts of the country. While the citizens are rejoicing in the harvest season, celebrities too have jumped to express their happiness. For instance, Tamil superstar Dhanush wished his fans Pongal with a wholesome family picture.
On Monday, Dhanush took to his X(formerly Twitter) handle and dropped a snap that featured him alongside his sons and his family. They were all decked up in ethnic and cultural attire and seemed ecstatic celebrating the festival together. Dhanush penned the caption, “Wishing you all a Blessed,Divine Pongal ♥️.”

One of the most awaited films, Captain Miller – headlined by Dhanush was released in theatres on January 12. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, this movie is creating buzz among the masses. It is directed by Arun Matheshwaran. it revolves around a character named Captain Miller, a former British soldier. He is on a mission to safeguard his village from the British who are looking for a hidden treasure protected by the locals. The film features an ensemble cast of actors including Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken, and Edward Sonnenblick in key roles.
Meanwhile, Dhanush has announced his third directorial venture with a concept poster. The actor has also revealed the film will release exactly one year from now on December 21, 2024. Other than the concept poster and release date, the actor-filmmaker hasn’t revealed other details about the movie.
The poster is a shot of an empty beach bench with the vast blue sea in the background. Instead of one, we have two crescent moons doubling up as alphabets ‘DD’ (Dhanush’s Directorial). The whole scene creates the mood of a pleasant and romantic evening, hinting that the film could be a romantic drama.
Dhanush debuted in directing in 2017 with his debut film Pa Pandi, narrating the tale of a retired stunt director’s quest to rediscover lost love. Praised by both critics and fans for its simplicity and effectiveness, the movie gained acclaim. At present, Dhanush is set to direct himself in an upcoming film, tentatively named D50, with details being tightly guarded.
