Malayalam Film Premalu To Have Its OTT Premiere On March 29? What We Know

Premalu has emerged as one of the biggest hits in recent times. This Malayalam rom-com film stars actors Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. Premalu, directed by Girish AD, has been garnering praise from all corners. Now, recent reports of Premalu’s OTT release are doing the rounds. The film will reportedly premiere on the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar on March 29, 2024. No official statement has been announced regarding this yet. Fans will have to wait a little longer it seems, as the production team is yet to share the good news. The film has achieved many milestones. The latest among which is that it has become the 5th Malayalam film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark globally at the box office. According to a Times Now report, Premalu is set to achieve a lifetime collection of Rs 110 crore globally. Premalu was made on a budget of Rs 3 crore. The film’s production is backed by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran.

Following Premalu’s humongous success, its Telugu version was released earlier this month. Now, Premalu’s Tamil version will be released in theatres today, on March 15. Red Giant Movies has secured the worldwide distribution rights for its Tamil version. It is a Tamil production company owned by former actor, politician and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin. This update was shared by Dileesh Pothan, Premalu’s producer. He wrote on Instagram. “Vanakkam Tamil Nadu, The celebrations get bigger with Red Giant Movies. Premalu’s Tamil version will hit theatres on March 15th. Come… let’s premalu!”

Premalu is being watched multiple times by fans in theatres. One fan named Arya, hailing from Kollam (Kerala), watched it 14 times. The film’s makers, impressed by her love and affection, surprised her with a return gift. Arya shared a post on Instagram regarding this. She thanked the production company, stating that she received a pleasant surprise from the film team; the company gave her a Special Unlimited Pass called Top Fan Pass. With this pass, the fan can now watch Premalu for new, as many times as she wants.
