New Delhi: Apple is reportedly looking to make its 'Night Shift' feature available on other products after its successful reception on the iOS.

The feature, first introduced with iOS 9.3, dims and pales the screen colours for use in dark conditions without causing much strain to the eyes.

According to Patently Apple, the tech giant has filed a trademark to bring its feature to the desktop, cars, and its watch, hinting at its expansion to other products.

Filed under International Classification 009, the feature is described as a "computer software for controlling computer and mobile device display screens." The filing further describes the variety of devices the feature could land onto, including television monitors, wearables, GPS devices, even fire extinguishers and life saving apparatus.

The colour-dimming feature might be working well for the iOS but bringing it to the Apple Watch or CarPlay might require some subtle tweaks as the usage is different than on an iPad or iPhone.
