It is often said that Apple tends to embrace a technology only after it matures over a few generations, typically following multiple rival products to launch in the industry. As reported by The Elec, Apple is in the planning stages for a compact foldable iPad, expected to make its debut between 2026 and 2027. To be more precise, this iPad could feature a size ranging from 7 to 8 inches and potentially serve as a replacement for the existing 8.3-inch iPad Mini currently available for purchase.
Should such a model materialise, it would signify the possibility of having a compact iPad device overall. However, when unfolded, it would provide a sizable screen.
Meanwhile, the publication also highlights that Apple is actively developing a flat OLED panel intended for a future iteration of the iPad mini. This development may unfold after the completion of Apple’s transition to OLED panels for the iPad Pro lineup.
