BlackBerry is all set to launch an Android phone in India on November 7, Monday. The company today sent out media invites for the launch event of the same in New Delhi. The event will be hosted by BlackBerry India managing director Narendra Nayak and Alex Thurber, senior VR- Devices Sales, BlackBerry.
While there is no official confirmation, BlackBerry might launch its latest DTEK 60 or DTEK 50 smartphones or even both in India.
The DTEK 50 is the second Android phone from BlackBerry was unveiled in July while the latest DTEK 60 was announced in October.
Also, the DTEK 60 smartphone is the last smartphone to be made by BlackBerry.
The specialty of DTEK smartphone is that BlackBerry has ensured maximum security for Android Marshmallow OS.
The DTEK 60 comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with a 21MP A/F rear camera and and 8MP selfie camera with flash. There is a fingerprint scanner and runs Android Marshmallow with support for Google Play.
It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal memory with support for up to 256GB microSD cards. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and supports 4G LTE.
On the other hand, the BlackBerry DTEK50 offers a 5.2-inch Full HD display and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor with 3GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory with support for up to 2TB microSD cards. There is a 13MP PDAF rear camera along with an 8MP front camera with Flash.
It is backed by a 2,610mAh battery.
