Meta is evolving with its AI chatbot that is available to WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram users. The new Llama 3.2 AI model is powering new features for Meta AI, which includes the ability to talk. And not just talk, get support for voices from famous celebrities like Dame Judi Dench, John Cena and Kristen Bell among others.
“Get answers to your questions, let Meta AI explain something you’re curious about or listen to a joke to lighten the mood,” as Meta explains in its post this week.
Meta AI For WhatsApp Users: What’s New
Thanks to the new Llama 3.2 AI model, the Meta AI chatbot goes beyond summarising articles, giving you a food recipe, or creating AI images. Now, the AI chatbot can talk which should gradually roll out to WhatsApp users in many countries.
The Meta AI chatbot will have a dynamic halo icon similar to Siri and answer your queries with the text given on the screen. The AI chatbot will also cite the source for its response which is critical for the credibility of the platform in the long run.
AI With Voice
If you want a more personalised voice chat, how about talking to the AI in the voices of John Cena, Dame Judi Dench or Kristen Bell? We had heard reports of Meta taking this route for the voice feature and it was finally made official at the Meta Connect 2024 event this week.
And if that wasn’t enough, how about Meta AI help you edit photos and even answer questions about them? “That means you can share a photo of a flower you see on a hike and ask Meta AI what kind of flower it is. Or you can share a photo of a new dish you want to cook and ask Meta AI for instructions on how to make it,” the company cites instances where the feature can be used.
Edit Photos or Make One
The edit photo feature is likely to get more people enticed to try out Meta AI. “Now you can send an image in a chat with Meta AI and tell Meta AI what you want added, removed or changed in the photo – from changing your outfit to replacing the background with a rainbow.” These new tools will be rolling out in a phased manner for WhatsApp, Facebook and even Instagram users.
Finally, Meta will allow you to create AI images of yourself. You can create these AI images of yourself being a superhero, or any other character that you want and share them with friends. We’re hoping Meta adds relevant labels for such content which is likely to become common in the near future.
