Motorola launches the new Moto G (3rd gen) with 5-inch display, 13MP camera at Rs 11,999 in India
It comes in two variants - 8GB storage with 1GB RAM at Rs 11,999 and 16GB storage with 2GB RAM at Rs 12,999. The phone will go on sale from midnight on Flipkart.

New Delhi: As opposed to popular rumours that Motorola will announce two smartphones and a smartwatch, Motorola has unveiled only one smartphone, the third-gen Moto G, at an event today in India.

The third-gen Moto G smartphone has been priced at Rs 11,999 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart. It actually comes in two variants - 8GB storage with 1GB RAM at Rs 11,999 and 16GB storage with 2GB RAM at Rs 12,999. The phone will go on sale from midnight today on Flipkart.

It boasts of a 5-inch HD scratch-resistant display with 294ppi that spans edge to edge. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect your display from scratches. Under its hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 1.4 GHz quad-core CPU.

The 4G LTE Moto G smartphone is powered by Android Lollipop 5.1 and features a 13 megapixel rear camera with new Correlated Colour Temperature (CCT) dual LED flash, which Motorola says, automatically adjusts to ensure you get natural looking skin tones and consistent vibrant colours. It is combined with a 5 megapixel front snapper that offers wide 72 degree field of view.

Some of the new features in the latest Moto G include: Moto Display - for quick and discrete preview of notifications even in locked screen mode; Quick Capture - to quickly capture images by twisting your wrist twice, twisting twice again launches the front camera; and Chop Twice that launches the flashlight with a quick flick of the wrist.

The third-gen Moto G is water resistant and will be available in White and Black colour options. The new Moto G has been designed to withstand immersion in up to 3 feet of fresh water for up to 30 minutes, provided the back cover is properly sealed. It has not designed to work while submerged underwater. The company clearly states that do not use it while swimming, or subject it to pressurised streams of water.

Packed with a 2470 mAh battery, the new Moto G is claimed to easily last for a day.

Users also have the option to customise the new Moto G with 10 different Motorola shells and 5 flip shells which are available in a variety of colours and materials.

Motorola also has launch offers on the device which include 100% cash back, shopping vouchers, Airtel 4G SIM, and the Moto 360 smartwatch among others.
