Users' desires from their phones are not limited and often it is only a premium phone that can meet most of them. But then not all are keen on shelling out around half-a-lakh for a phone.
We often get queries from friends, family, and readers, asking us for a phone that can match the top flagships but worth not more than Rs 30,000. With so many such phones in the market, such desires are now fulfillable.
The arrival of new Chinese players including OnePlus, LeEco and Oppo, in India, has redefined the under-Rs 30K category. Amidst times, when tech titans such as Apple and Samsung are introducing their flagship phones at around Rs 50K, these Chinese companies are offering premium devices, with a strong spec sheet and rich experience, at almost half-the-price.
Introduced last year, the Moto X Style is still a strong contender under Rs 30K. The phone not only comes with a premium design, but also offers a great user experience. Unlike the full HD display on the OnePlus 3, the Moto X Style has a 5.7-inch Quad HD display (1440 x 2560 pixels), thereby offering more pixel density. One of the key highlights of the phone is the stereo speakers at the front - one each at both top and bottom - that generate excellent audio results - both loud and clear. The phone offers a maximum of 32 GB of internal storage, but it lets you expand memory using a microSD card. While it's good to have more features on your phone, but the absence of fingerprint sensor on the X Style is a small downside here.
While the Nexus 5X comes in two storage variants - 16 GB and 32 GB, we have listed here only the former. This is because the 32 GB model doesn't fit the list as it costs above Rs 30K. It's highly recommended only if you can manage with 16 GB of storage as it doesn't have an option for additional storage.
Coming to its USP, this is the only phone in the list that runs stock Android, which means the phone comes free of bloatware that often slows down the phone. Ergonomically designed, the phone feels light in weight. Talking about its performance, the phone scores good on the report card.
From a comfortable grip to a great camera, the phone ticks all the check boxes. Targeted at selfie lovers, the phone sports a huge 16 megapixel front camera that leaves you impressed with its details and colour reproduction. While phones listed above have a good front camera, but the one on the F1 Plus outdoes all those on other phones in our list. Other specs include a 5.5-inch display, 4GB RAM, 64 GB ROM, fingerprint sensor, and dual-SIM support.
