Sony on Monday (April 17) unveiled its new series of EXTRA BASS hi-resolution headphones and wireless speakers series in India. The headphones will start retailing at a price of Rs 12,990.
Sony took the veils off the flagship MDR-XB950B1, the mid-range MDR-XB550AP and the in-ear MDR-XB510AS sports headphones, which will retail at Rs 12,990, Rs 3,290, and Rs 2,790 respectively. These headphones will be available 20th April onwards via Sony Center.
"The flagship wireless headphones can play music up to 18 hours on a single charge", Sony India said.
The XB950B1 will be available in Blue and Black colours only. This one is a set of wireless circum-aural headphones while the XB550AP is a wired one. The XB510AS is aimed at fitness enthusiasts and is an in-ear with dust and water resistance.
The new EXTRA BASS series of headphones support voice assist functions through built-in microphones.
The mid-range XB550AP and the in-ear XB510AS have been also introduced in Army Green colour.
According to Sony, this improved and ramped up line-up enables users to savour the deep bass intensity in varied scenarios. The bass booster in the headphones is designed to present a premium sound quality experience.
Now speaking of the new EXTRA BASS portable wireless speakers, the SRS-XB40, SRS-XB30, SRS-XB20, and the SRS-XB10 were also added to the line-up of wireless Bluetooth speakers today. All the four support Bluetooth (v4.2) and NFC connectivity options.
Also, the SRS-XB40 and SRS-XB30 can double up as power banks, and allow users to charge their smartphones on the go.
According to Sony India, "The first three speakers can also be used to form a wireless party chain, and one can connect up to 10 speakers via Bluetooth for a surround sound experience.
All the four wireless speakers are water resistant.
