It is price slash season at Xiaomi India. The Redmi 2 - what our review called 'the badhshah of budget phones' is latest in the Xiaomi product lineup in India to get a price cut.
The Redmi 2 is now available in India for Rs 5,999, down Rs 1,000 from the original launch price of Rs 6,999. The Redmi 2, the successor to the successful Redmi 1S, first went on sale in March this year in India. The Redmi 2 was Xiaomi's first phone to use a 64-bit processor, and also the first to support 4G dual-SIM.
The phone that was initially available exclusively on Flipkart is now also available on Amazon, Snapdeal, The Mobile Store and Airtel stores.
Recently Xiaomi slashed the Redmi Note 4G price by Rs 2,000 to Rs 7,999. The Mi 4 models (16 GB and 64 GB) also have got their share of price drops.
