Xiaomi has launched two new successors to the popular Redmi 3 smartphone line up - Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A.
The 4G VoLTE capable smartphones come in three variants: Redmi 4 Pro Edition, Redmi 4 standard edition, and the Redmi 4A.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro edition comes with a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution and 2.5D curved glass. The device is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor that's backed by 3GB RAM with 32GB of storage option. The Redmi 4 Pro sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, and a 5MP selfie camera.
The device is backed by a similar 4,100 mAh battery that was present on the Redmi Note 3. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow OS and Xiaomi's latest MIUI 8 on top of it.
The Redmi 4 standard edition comes with a similar size display and is powered by a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 430 processor that's backed by 2GB RAM with 16GB storage space. Other specifications remain the same as the Pro version of the phone.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A on the other hand, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor that's backed by 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The battery on the Redmi 4A is smaller at 3120 mAh as compared to the other two devices.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Standard edition is priced at CNY 699 (approx Rs 6,910), the Redmi 4 Pro is available for CNY 899 (approx Rs 8,887) and the Redmi 4A is priced at 499 Yuan (approx Rs 4,933).
The devices might make it to India in December 2016. Xiaomi's one of the biggest market outside China is India and they got the Redmi 3 series to India within one month of its China launch. Something similar can be expected with the new Redmi 4 devices as well.
