Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launches its new budget smartphone Redmi Y2 in India. The phone is the latest addition to Xiaomi’s affordable selfie-centric Y series that has seen increasing popularity in the Indian market. The Redmi Y2 with 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage option is priced at Rs 9,999 while the model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs 12,999. The specifications include a 5.99-inch HD+ display and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 625 processor and has a 3,080 mAh battery. The device comes with a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor along with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Besides this, the Redmi Y2 has a 16-megapixel sensor on the front with AI packed features such as AI Portrait Mode and AI Smart Beauty.
The smartphone is set to go on sale from June 12 via Amazon India, mi.com, and Mi Home stores. The device will be available in three colour options – Dark Grey, Rose Gold, and Gold.
Redmi Y2 launch offers include a Rs 500 instant discount on ICICI Bank on credit and debit cards in the first sale. Apart from this Airtel is also offering a Rs 1,800 instant cashback to Redmi Y2 buyers, and up to 240GB data free.
