Hina Khan, best known for her role as Akshara in Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has become a source of inspiration for many. Since the day the actress was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, she decided to fight it bravely and wear her scars proudly instead of letting them be a hindrance in her path. Keeping up the same spirit, Hina kickstarted the celebrations for her birthday, which falls on October 2.
On Monday, the actress posted a picture of a scrumptious birthday cake on her Instagram Stories. The cake was decorated with a candle, a happy birthday topper, and rose petals. Sharing the picture, Hina wrote, “And it begins. First cake,” followed by a cake emoji. Every year, her fans, aka Hinaholics, leave no stone unturned in celebrating the special day of their favourite actress.
On June 28, Hina revealed her stage three cancer diagnosis and shared that she was under treatment. Moreover, the actress chose to take this as an opportunity to make people aware of the disease and share her realistic journey, filled with severe challenges, on her social media account.
Amid her cancer battle, Hina made her first media appearance at a recent event. She wore a traditional Kashmiri outfit and paid homage to her roots. She looked beautiful in a bright pink suit set featuring traditional ‘Tilla’ work embroidery on it. Sharing some pictures of herself in the pretty outfit, Hina wrote, “Kashmir, A piece of my Heart. Was really wanting to wear the essence of Kashmir in this new phase of my life. Something really special from my Birthplace. And I Loved wearing this Exquisite and Beautiful Traditional Kashmiri Attire with custom ‘Tilla’ work embroidery all over it. It was so overwhelming.”
Prior to this, the Kasautii Zindagi Kay actress walked the ramp at Times Fashion Week 2024 in Ahmedabad. She was dressed like a bride in a heavily embellished lehenga choli, looking elegant as ever. Hina took to her Instagram account to share a video, offering a glimpse at how she dolled up for the event. The video has received over 40 million views, garnering her praise for her intent and resilience. Sharing the reel, the actress penned a note in remembrance of what her late father would often tell her.
On the work front, Hina was last seen in the Punjabi film Shinda Shinda No Papa.
