No one wants to be a victim of a toxic culture at the workplace but not everyone is that fortunate. And in a poignant display of dissatisfaction, an employee who had endured the brunt of such toxicity didn’t hesitate to deliver a resounding message to the organisation on their final day at the office. Their impassioned email, directed towards the managers and all who had contributed to the degradation of the work environment, quickly gained traction after being shared on the ‘Developers India’ subreddit.
The screenshots of the email unveiled a narrative beginning with the employee’s pointed observation of the manager’s absence on their last day, prompting thwm to send an email. “It was not AT ALL PLEASURABLE for me to work with you,” the email’s heated tone began, with select phrases emphasised for effect. The employee proceeded to express their reluctance to leave on bad terms but attributed their decision to the manager’s dictatorial demeanour, likening it to a ‘HITLER’s RACE,’ compelling them to reveal all.
The employee listed several instances where they were unfairly accused of provoking others and recounted numerous occasions of mistreatment during their notice period. These included being pressured to stay after team meetings and being purposefully isolated during lunch and other interactions. They didn’t leave out any details, making sure to highlight each instance of mistreatment.

But that wasn’t just it. The email wasn’t just about complaining. It also expressed gratitude to those who had been supportive and kind. At the same time, it pointedly suggested that the manager should learn from these examples of kindness and support. Moreover, it highlighted the manager’s disrespectful behaviour towards female employees, which further reflected poorly on their leadership abilities.
In conclusion, the employee strongly criticised the manager’s suitability for their position. They emphasised their determination to uphold self-respect and dignity despite facing challenges in the workplace, writing, “My backbone is strong enough to hold/stick on grounds of self-respect/self-esteem and ofcourse can’t stand humiliation and mental sickness at workplace. I don’t like sitting at the table where respect is not served.”

But damn this person might have went through a lot to write all these and cc everyone. Can’t imagine the frustration of manager in next standup call,” remarked one user.
