One of the greatest structures ever built is the great pyramids of Giza in Egypt. These pyramids are known to be the oldest among the seven wonders of the world. These ancient marvels are believed to have been constructed about 4,500 years ago and have continued to astound people from across the world.
With the capital city of Cairo only 14 km away, Giza is the last remaining iconic wonder of the ancient world. The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, is the largest of the three pyramids in the complex. It stands at 481 feet, followed by the Pyramid of Khafre at 471 feet and the Pyramid of Menkaure at 213 feet.
Just the size of the mass of the pyramids is beyond comprehension — the largest has in its construction 2.3 million stone blocks. Till now, researchers have been trying to guess the techniques that Egyptians used to build these incredible architectures in ancient times.
But how on earth did they do it?
It remains buried in the secret, something that can never be discovered. As there are no blueprints, no archaeological documents, no historical data of any kind — it is no wonder that there are so many conspiracy theories.
Despite the widespread belief that the pyramids were the pharaohs’ tombs, there are indications that their functions were more intricate. According to some theories, the pyramids were constructed as a component of a vast religious complex intended to secure the pharaoh’s passage to the afterlife.
The Egyptian pharaohs built these structures as elaborate tombs equipped with all the necessities for a prosperous afterlife because they thought they would become gods.
Shafts, rooms and cramped tunnels abound throughout the pyramids’ interior design, which remains a mystery. For instance, the King’s Chamber, the Queen’s Chamber and a partially completed subterranean room make up the Great Pyramid’s three principal chambers. Certain chambers’ functions are still unknown.
Although the Ramp and the water shaft theories are the two primary ideas for its creation, there are additional theories such as those involving time travel, long-lost technology and aliens.
According to the theory, the pyramids were not built over many years by tens of thousands of workers, massive administrative and logistical efforts, a practically unlimited supply of stone, and skilled architects and engineers. Instead, aliens constructed them—or at the very least, they taught humans how to do so.
