In Karnataka’s Mangaluru, Calf Born With Two Heads Draws Locals’ Attention
The calf has one body and two heads, which are connected from the side.

We have heard stories of miracles that involve fantastical humans as well as animals since our childhood. What if something similar to that happens in real life? As per a new report of Local18, a cow has given birth to a calf with two heads in Karnataka. The birth of the unique calf took place in the area of Kinnigoli, Mangalore. The cow belongs to a man named Jayarama Jogi, who is a resident of Damas Katte Dujlaguri. According to more information, the calf has one body and two heads. The heads are connected from the side, so in total it has four eyes. The middle eyes are not functional while the other farther ones work normally, as per more reports.

At the moment, the calf is not able to stand, so it is being fed with a feeder for babies. The calf is trying to stand but due to the weight of its head, which is more than its body, the newborn is struggling to balance itself. It is the cow’s second calf, a female. The family members are very concerned about the health of the unique calf, added Local18.

A veterinarian has examined it and declared that it is healthy for now, but the condition could change later. According to them, the life of the newborn animal will entirely depend on how well it is taken care of.

Back in 2016, a similar case was reported from Udaipur, Rajasthan. The calf was conjoined at the head, sharing one body and was responding well to the treatment. The veterinarian stated that it was a case of one in a million. The birth attracted the attention of the locals, who declared it a “godly incarnation.” A local said, “This is a very auspicious sign. Cow is our mother God and this is a blessing from her.” Cows are considered holy beings in Hinduism, and are also worshipped.
