In This Madhya Pradesh Village, Locals Visit Bidehi Baba Temple To Cure Snake Bite
They believe that if a snakebite victim comes here alive, he will return only after recovery.

Do you know there is a village called Maharajpur in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, where no one dies due to snake bites? It is an age-old belief among the people of the Maharajpur village that whenever someone gets bitten by a snake, instead of going to the hospital, they visit Bidehi Baba’s temple to get healed. They also believe that, if a snakebite victim comes here alive, he will return only after his recovery, as numerous cases occurred here since the time of kings. This statement is confirmed by a priest named, Rajkumar Tiwari, of Bidehi Baba’s temple, where he claims that it is Bidehi baba’s grace that the life of the snakebite victim is saved after coming here. He also claims that, in this temple, a huge Cobra also stays, which is taken care of by the priests.

Not only this, Rajkumar Tiwari also talked about the historical background behind this temple. He says that, a long time back, a king came here and started residing in this forest in order to find solitude. After some time, he took samadhi alive and therefore, this temple is built on his grave.

The miracle started when an old woman’s son was bitten by a snake and she came to Bidehi Baba to cure her son. The priest also claimed that Baba told the pleading mother that nothing will happen to her son and since then, if anyone, who gets bitten by a snake, comes to this place, he or she will definitely recover. Not only snakebite victims come here to get cured but also victims who get bitten by any other poisonous creatures, come here to heal. The issue of ghosts and evil spirits is also addressed here and resolved.

The priest also claims that, the victims who come here to heal, get recovered by taking baba’s name and also a knot is tied to their hair. They are also offered to drink ghee and black pepper instead of water.

The priest mentions that, every day, 20-25 snakebite patients come here and go back after getting cured.
