A video went viral on social media recently, which showcases a police officer petting a rescued baby monkey in his home. This video has sparked curiosity and garnered a lot of attention among netizens. Policemen are often perceived as strict and stern. This policeman, who is Azamgarh’s Additional Superintendent named Shailendra Lal, will change your perception. His love for animals has made him famous, not only in the district, but also in the entire state. Not only him, his wife is also seen petting two monkeys, as if they are their child. He and his wife have also been appreciated for their kind nature.
In the video, it can be seen that the policeman’s wife is sitting and, on her lap, a baby monkey is lying. She is caressing the monkey in such a way which looks as if a mother is petting her child. The policeman’s wife claimed that the monkey escaped last night from those who were torturing her. She also added that, when she came into their house, it already looked very scared. The woman says that after coming to their home, the monkey was clinging to her and was very friendly. It is not eating any fruit but rather it is consuming roti. She added that, now, she and her husband are taking the monkey to the hospital.
In the second part, the policeman is seen playing with the two to three monkeys together and is feeding them. Seeing the video, it can be understood that he likes to spend his time with monkeys before going to work. There are many monkeys living near his government residence, who are seen playing around his house throughout the day. Spending time with monkeys in his free time is one of his favourite activities.
Shailendra Lal and his wife’s act of saving and rescuing the monkey stands as an example that humanity still exists in our society.
