Indian Hockey Star Rani Rampal Slams Air India For Mishandling Her Luggage: ‘Wonderful Surprise’
Rani Rampal made a sarcastic comment about her experience with Air India, as she thanked the airlines and pointed out how poorly her luggage was treated.

Indian hockey star Rani Rampal recently expressed her frustration with Air India after her luggage was mishandled by their staff. While returning from Canada, she was shocked to discover her bag was damaged and she did not shy away from sharing her disappointment on X. She made a sarcastic comment about her experience with Air India, by thanking the airlines and pointing out how poorly her bag was treated. Her post quickly garnered attention, while Air India apologised and asked for more details so that they could look into the situation. However, many social media users felt that the airline’s response was slow, while others claimed they faced similar situations in the past.

Along with her complaint, the Padma Shree awardee also shared a picture of her broken luggage on the platform. She wrote, “Thank you Air India for this wonderful surprise. This is how your staff treat our bags. On my way back from Canada to India this afternoon after landing in Delhi I found my bag broken.”

Reacting to Rani Rampal’s post, Air India replied, “Dear Ms Rampal, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please DM us your ticket details, bag tag number, and damage complaint number/DBR copy. We’ll take this up.”

Meanwhile, a user wrote, “We as passengers fill our luggage to the last mm where the bag loses its natural shape. Also people should make sure that the bags they bring to the airport are transport worthy. Ground staff have to load all bags within a specified time to meet the TAT, you can’t expect them to treat the bags as fragile material and place it on the loading and unloading bays delicately. Airlines cannot be held 100% accountable.”

“On a funny note, it looks like they wanted to see what would hatch from the bag. Ok, on a serious note. It’s not Air India. Its airports. This is common in many countries,” a comment read.

Another person said, “Hope they learn from this mistake.”

An individual also shared, “Air India, you need a lot of beauty. You don’t work a single penny on the tickets but you throw away our luggage as if it is some unclaimed thing. Please pay attention to your staff, it has become too much.”

One more added, “It’s happening so often nowadays. Almost all airlines are least bothered about passengers’ stuff.”

Since Rani Rampal shared her complaint on X, it has garnered over 2 million views.
