And it was just a more glamorised version of our own thali. The video was shared on Instagram by a user named @costcomarkhameast, who is quite popular for content about his Costco finds. The clip soon triggered a wave of nostalgia for social media users who compared it with the humble Indian thali, often used to serve different dishes together. In Canada, it is being popularly referred to as the ‘Costco Tray’.

In the clip, the influencer picks out the Costco tray and highlights its features. He describes it as having a nice ‘weight balance’, which ‘looks great’ and is ‘super easy to clean’. He also revealed that the Costco tray, aka the famed Indian thaali, costs 18.99 Canadian dollars, which is equivalent to around Rs 1,000.

After the clip went viral on social media, many people went to the comment section to share their views regarding the newly found Indian thali in Canada. One of the users wrote, “Man, no! Those are fancy prison trays! Someone bust those out. I’m leaving.”
