In a startling discovery, a 74-year-old pensioner named Constance Glanz, who was declared dead at her care home, was later found to be alive and kicking. According to The Daily Star, people saw this when she arrived at the funeral parlour. Constance was declared dead at 9.44 am on June 3. However, things took an unusual turn at Butherus-Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA, where she was taken. A worker at the funeral home nearly was terrified to the core when he noticed that the 74-year-old pensioner was breathing. The staff immediately sprung into action, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and calling emergency services and the police to report the incident.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin, with 31 years on the job, told the portal that he’d never seen any incident like this. As per the Chief Deputy, this is a very unusual case. According to Ben, he has been in service for 31 years, and no situation has ever reached this point. The officer revealed that the funeral home rang the police at 11.44 am, and help arrived quickly. He recalled the chilling moment and said, “An employee was placing Constance Glanz onto a table to start their process and the employee noted that she was breathing.” According to the Chief Deputy, the workers instantly called 911, and the emergency services responded.
Ben assured that the investigation is in full swing. According to him, till now, there’s no sign that anyone tried to put Constance in the grave before her time. According to the Chief Deputy, the pensioner’s family has been notified about this incident.
A similar incident happened in São José, Brazil, where a crematorium worker discovered a 90-year-old woman Norma Silveira da Silva alive in the hospital morgue. When he made this discovery, the worker had arrived at the morgue to retrieve the body. The unsettling event reportedly took place shortly after the hospital staff had officially declared Norma dead. The elderly woman had been placed in a body bag and sent to the morgue, where the crematorium worker made the shocking realisation. Although the elderly woman was brought back to a hospital room, she was confirmed to be deceased shortly.
